Pearl-White at AntipodeanSF

This is a late posting, after a fantastic month on holiday, of the publication in early August of Pearl White: A Winter’s Tale – the first flash fiction I wrote, back in 2008 – at the speculative fiction e-zine/site, AntipodeanSF.

Inspired by tapestries and medieval tales of the ‘Lady and the Unicorn’, including hours spent mesmerised in front of The Lady and the Unicorn (la Dame a l’Icorne) tapestries in the Cluny Museum in Paris many years ago, Pearl White re-imagines the lady’s relationship to the unicorn, and gives the tale a fresh ending. A second version of the story appeared as Pearl Red in Trunk Book’s Blood anthology, but you can read the original, Pearl White, at this link.
